Artwork
for your CD/DVD
Many companies
will require you to provide your own artwork, this is for
the DVD face aswell as for the outside cover of the case
(commonly called an insert, entrapment, or wrap) and if
required, the insert inside of the case (postcard, or booklet).
We have DVD duplication templates that we can send to you
via e-mail which you can use to assist in layout of your
design. If you do not have a design we offer a full in house
design service from start to finish, so be sure to call
us for a quotation if you require this service.
If your CD
DVD is to be sold, then you will probably require a bar
code also known as a UPC. we can provide this for you if
necessary. This depends on how and who you plan to sell
your product to. For example; if your DVD will be sold through
retail outlets, then you will need to have a barcode somewhere
on the product. This is because many retailers need a barcode
to enter the product on their computer systems.
Master
discs and artwork check
Once you have
created your master discs, you will be need to bring or
send them in to us either with the artwork, or along with
an e-mail containing the artwork. If your design is too
large to send via e-mail, then do not worry we have a server
that you can easily upload the files to. We generally take
payment up-front, as we start burning materials as soon
as the project lands. You'll find that some duplication
companies only require 50% up-front to get your project
started, and then will collect the remaining balance once
your order is ready to ship.
Do
it yourself
Duplication
is a process that can be done by anyone with the correct
equiptment, i.e. a burner or CD DVD writer and with a knowledge
of how computers work. This can obviously save you money,
however not save you time. The question is can you afford
the time to duplicate discs yourself and can you really
afford a trial run? Commonly errors can occur when duplicating
via a PC (personal Computer). Perhaps the best way to actually
save money is to save time, after all time is money as they
say. Maybe hiring the experts to do what they are experienced
in doing might be the best option. If
you would like to try your hand at duplicating CD / DVDs
by yourself then you need to be sure you can afford to take
the gamble if things go wrong. The choice is left for you
to decide
Finding
the right CD/DVD duplication Service
There are
many CD/DVD duplication companies out available in the UK
but not all duplication companies are the same. Many UK
companies do not actually produce the replicated discs in
the UK. This can obviously slow down the process and delay
delivery times. There are all kinds of pricing structures
that can be very confusing and frustrating for you. The
best option is to find a company that offers a friendly
reliable service and will give you a clear cut total price
all inclusive. This protects you from discovering there
were little hidden costs involved which add up to a large
amount when receiving the final bill. Establish what the
company's policies are before making a deal. and please
do watch out for those hidden costs like overage (where
the duplication company makes more discs than required and
then expects you to pay for them). Ensure that you know
exactly what the costs are for mastering, setup, and for
the printed discs
Packaging
Options
There are
various packaging options for CDs and DVDs. The most common
are pollywallets (clear plastic sleeve), jewel cases for
CDs and standard DVD cases for DVDs. Once you have decided
you must also decide if you wish the finished product to
be shrink warped or cellowraped (the clear wrapper on the
outside that you tear off). This is a good idea for retail
packaged Dvds.
What
happens next.
When all else
is said and done, the next step after delivery of your master
discs you should receive email proofs of your artwork. These
are simple digital images (PDFs or JPEGs) showing you how
your design elements will line up when printed. If you ordered
a hard proof, then you will have it shipped out to you.
Please be aware there is normally an extra charge for this
service.
Final
Check
How can you
check if you a dealing with a reputable duplication replication
company? Well a reputable company will offer straight forward
pricing broken down into quantity levels, and in order to
simplify things should not charge any hidden costs. Make
sure you get a written quotation before starting a job.
Also beware of duplication companies that make it compulsary
to purchase hard proofs instead of it being an option. It
is not at all required for most jobs.
Design
proof
Once you have
seen the artwork proof, and you are satisfied with it, all
you have to do is give the go ahead and you should have
your duplicated CDs or DVDs with you in no more than 14
days
CD DVD duplication

that keeps things simple for you and gives you clear cut
prices. We aim to make life as easy as we can for you so
give a call for a very competitive quote.
